The estate highlights the quality of its old vines (average age of 50 years) by adjusting its pruning and trellising methods to control yields. By reducing inputs, the vineyard allows the terroirs to express themselves during winemaking. With a history dating back to 1601, the estate produces exclusively Chardonnay, "La Perle Blanche," on white clay and limestone soils in northern Beaujolais, offering a unique expression of the terroirs.

Beaujolais | France

Based in Juliénas since 1877, the Perrachon family—one of the oldest winemaking families in the Beaujolais region—is now led by Laurent, Martine, Adrien, and Maxime, who produce several iconic wines: Juliénas, Morgon, Moulin-à-Vent, Chénas, Fleurie, Saint-Amour, and Beaujolais Villages. A wide range of wines, produced using traditional methods—hand-harvesting, goblet pruning—and deliberately low yields.

Nevertheless, Maxime Perrachon offers wines that are carefully crafted and available at attractive prices. The yield per vine in some of his plots is among the lowest in France—a philosophy of concentration that is reflected in the intensity and finesse of his wines.
