Our opinion on the vintage

An elegant nose of cherry, raspberry, and subtle woody notes. A fine, silky, and balanced palate. A persistent and refined finish.

Established in 1990, Domaine Olivier Gard is run by Manuel Olivier in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, in the immediate vicinity of Vosne-Romanée. The estate now covers approximately 11 hectares, spread between the Hautes-Côtes and the Côte de Nuits, with work focused on viticulture.

The vineyard notably includes a plot of Aligoté, a grape variety historically established in the area and closely linked to the local cultivation of small fruits. This regional tradition—blackcurrants, raspberries, strawberries—remains alive, with the family continuing to cultivate and sell these fruits directly, fruits emblematic of the Hautes-Côtes.

The white wines made from these old Aligoté vines are vinified in tanks, in a quest for freshness and precision. They are distinguished by their straightforward, mineral profiles, floral notes, and pronounced vibrancy. The Vieilles Vignes cuvée exemplifies this approach, offering a crisp, sparkling, and balanced white wine, renowned for its clarity of expression.
