Gigondas Face nord 2022

Gigondas | Red | 2022

This Gigondas “Face Nord” comes from vines facing north, on clay-limestone and stony soils. The blend is primarily Syrah and Grenache, vinified in concrete tanks and then partially aged in barrels. This cool exposure preserves the wine's balance and tension, while highlighting the fruit's finesse and the elegant structure typical of the appellation.

Our opinion on the vintage

On the nose, the wine unfolds deep aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, violet, and sweet spices, with a touch of menthol. The palate is ample and structured, supported by firm yet elegant tannins. Ripe black fruit is present, underscored by notes of garrigue, pepper, and a welcome mineral freshness. The finish is long, taut, and slightly smoky. A Gigondas with a strong character, more vertical than sun-drenched, that prioritizes balance over over-ripeness.
