The Bordaxuria farm, nestled on the slopes of Arradoy, boasts exceptional terroir thanks to its terraced vineyards. This type of cultivation, often done by hand, reduces yields, thus guaranteeing concentrated quality. The vineyard is managed organically, with meticulous attention paid to every stage, from vine to wine. The wines display a beautiful balance and marked depth, reflecting the winemakers' artisanal expertise.

Our opinion on the vintage

You will be immediately captivated by this Irouléguy red, with its brilliant purple hue reminiscent of the most intense dark fruits. On the nose, aromas of blueberry cream mingle with subtle hints of blackberry and black cherry, with a touch of spice in the background. On the palate, the wine reveals a full and velvety texture, combined with remarkable freshness and richness. The finish is particularly luscious, revealing a mineral character that connects directly to the roots of the Irouléguy terroir. This wine embodies a unique, vibrant sensory experience, deeply rooted in its terroir.

Domaine Bordaxuria

Sud-Ouest | France

Domaine Bordaxuria is located in Ispoure, in the Irouléguy wine region, and was created in the 1980s by the Reca family. The three daughters of the family took over the estate in 2014, developing both the winemaking and cheesemaking aspects of the family farm.

The estate covers 9 hectares of vineyards, 80% of which are terraced on silty and sandstone soils very rich in iron. The red grape varieties are primarily Tannat, with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon in smaller quantities, and the white grape varieties include Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng, and Petit Courbu. The vineyards are currently undergoing organic conversion.

The wines produced are red, white and rosé, with controlled yields between 22 and 30 hl/ha. The estate seeks to reflect the unique terroir of the steep slopes of Irouléguy while respecting the natural balance of the vine.
