Bordeaux | Rosé | 2025

La Chapelle, THE rosé from Château Léognan, a family-owned estate located in the heart of the Graves region, south of Bordeaux. This cuvée, crafted from a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc, offers a dry, balanced, and fresh profile, presenting a more gastronomic take on Bordeaux rosé—a far cry from wines meant simply to quench thirst. Its balance of fruit, freshness, and structure makes it a particularly versatile wine to pair with meals.

Our Review of the Cuvée

The color is bright and brilliant, with delicate pale pink highlights. The nose reveals aromas of fresh red berries, red currant, and strawberry, accompanied by floral notes. On the palate, the attack is lively and fruity, with a supple texture and lovely freshness. The finish offers a slight briny note and a pleasant, lingering aroma. An elegant, fresh, and delicious rosé, particularly enjoyable when served well-chilled as an aperitif or with summer dishes.

Château de Léognan

Château de Léognan

Bordeaux | France

Taken over in 2007 by Chantal and Philippe Miecaze, Château de Léognan is a 6-hectare family-owned estate located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Driven by a longstanding passion for wine, they restored the 17th–19th-century château and breathed new life into this historic site, once frequented by François Mauriac. The vineyard, planted and meticulously tended, sits on gravel soils ideal for the optimal ripening of Cabernet Sauvignon, nestled within an environment sheltered by the Landes pine forest. The high-density vines are harvested by hand with successive sorting to ensure impeccable quality. Production is resolutely focused on excellence and is part of a renaissance initiative, a powerful symbol of the estate’s identity. The wines of Château de Léognan are now regularly awarded prizes and praised by international competitions and the specialized press.
