Our opinion on the vintage

After a brief aeration, the already promising wine reveals a lovely roundness and a velvety texture on the palate. The intense fruitiness is perfectly balanced by a subtle tension that adds another dimension. The fresh and dense finish gives the wine exceptional length, carried by the purity of the blackcurrant.

Domaine Les Murailles Neuves

Loire | France

Domaine Les Murailles Neuves is a wine estate located in Varrains, in the Saumur-Champigny appellation of the Loire Valley, where Bruno Richard cultivates the vines to produce typical Cabernet Franc red wines. The estate has been run by the family since its acquisition in 2004 and aims to showcase the expression of the local clay-limestone terroir.

The vines are cultivated to promote grape quality, with controlled yields and traditional winemaking methods. The wines are primarily red, made from Cabernet Franc, and sometimes aged in amphorae or vats to preserve the integrity of the aromas and the finesse of the fruit.

The estate's wines are distinguished by their elegance, their frank aromatic profile and their ability to faithfully translate the identity of the Saumur-Champigny terroir.
