La Muntada 2021

Côtes du Roussillon villages | Red | 2021

Crafted with respect for tradition, this wine is the result of meticulous hand-harvesting. Harvesting in crates, followed by rigorous sorting, ensures that only the finest grapes are retained, while aging in large oak casks and barrels for 30 months imparts exceptional depth to the whole. Without fining or filtration, it preserves the full richness of its blend, offering a pure and sincere expression of the limestone marl terroir.

Our opinion on the vintage

From the first sip, the nose reveals enticing aromas of dark fruit and sweet spices, a testament to the harmonious blend of Grenache and century-old Carignan vines. On the palate, its texture is both silky and rich, revealing a beautiful complexity that unfolds throughout the tasting. The tannins are fine and well-integrated, providing an elegant and persistent structure. The long, balanced finish leaves a lasting impression of finesse and intensity. Gauby

Roussillon | France

Domaine Gauby is a wine estate located in Calce, in the Côtes du Roussillon Villages appellation in the heart of the Roussillon region. Founded by Gérard Gauby, it is now run with the participation of his son, Lionel. The estate is renowned for its biodynamic and organic practices, cultivating old vines planted in diverse limestone and schist soils that impart great richness to the grapes.

Viticulture is carried out with minimal intervention, using indigenous yeasts for fermentation and vinification in traditional materials such as concrete and wood, without chaptalization or filtration. This approach results in deep, elegant, and highly expressive red, white, and rosé wines.

Gauby wines are renowned for their finesse, aromatic complexity and ability to faithfully reflect the Roussillon terroir, particularly in cuvées made from old vines and historic plots.
