Domaine Capmartin

Convent Cuvée 2020

Madiran | Red | 2020

This wine, made entirely from the Tannat grape variety, reflects a commitment to respectful viticulture, certified organic. The vines are planted at high density on clay-limestone soil, benefiting from a south-southeast exposure. Hand-harvesting and various techniques, such as destemming and punching down in cement vats, followed by a long fermentation, ensure a complex structure in the wine. Aging in new oak barrels and then in stainless steel tanks contributes to a refined texture.

Guarding potential

Our opinion on the vintage

This wine distinguishes itself from the very first sniff with its remarkable aromatic intensity, where the depth of black fruit is balanced with delicate notes of sweet spice. On the palate, the tasting reveals a masterful harmony between a silky texture and a tension that carries the wine. The tannins, of great finesse, underscore the meticulous work in the vineyards and the precision of the winemaking process. This is a profound and elegant cuvée, whose lingering finish will perfectly complement flavorful cuisine.

Domaine Capmartin

Domaine Capmartin

Sud-Ouest | France

Within the Madiran appellation, Domaine Capmartin is committed to offering a fresh interpretation of Tannat, the emblematic grape variety of Southwest France. The work carried out in the vineyard and cellar aims to preserve the natural structure of the grape while softening its expression through judicious technical choices.

The winemaking process favors moderate extraction and judicious use of oak, allowing the wine to breathe more fully. This approach results in reds where the tannic structure remains present but unfolds with greater suppleness and fluidity. The fruit gains clarity, the textures are balanced, and the finishes retain a remarkable drinkability.

The entire range of wines offers a modern and coherent interpretation of Madiran, attentive to freshness, readability and the evolution of the wines, without denying the identity of the terroir or that of the grape variety.
