The domain's short story
A family vineyard since 1860, Clos des Vins d'Amour is run by the Dornier family and extends over three magical schist terroirs in Tautavel, Maury and Saint Paul de Fenouillet. These typical terroirs of white, grey and black Grenache and Carignan give rise to Maury appellation wines, both dry and sweet.Being a winemaker is not a job, it's a life: an awareness, an infinite thirst for projects, discoveries, questioning, amazement, captivity, friendship for the curious, a commitment to passing on know-how, passing on culture to future generations.Since 2008, we've been cultivating our plots of Grenache (black, grey and white), Carignan, Macabeu and Syrah with our bare hands and a caterpillar, listening to the life that animates the land and the time that passes through the seasons. At Le Clos, we have a global approach to terroir and nature, between interaction and reflection. Just as in our vegetable garden, we know that crossing paths with a chubby earthworm will be good for the vines, the terroir, and therefore our wines. This natural balance, the purity of the terroir on Cru Maury, and the expression of the fruit in the cellar, above all else, is what we like to find in our wines, and on lively, chatty tables teeming with lovely seasonal produce.
