Domaine Bourdy

We are located in the Revermont Jura, more precisely in Arlay. On more or less gentle hills, at an altitude of 230 to 350 meters with exposures that go from South-East to West. Our soils are calcareous, composed of red clay and white and blue marl, from the lias and trias. We produce all the Jurassian grape varieties, namely : Trousseau, Poulsard, Pinot, Chardonnay and Savagnin. And every year since always, we harvest by hand. We have been cultivating our vines in biodynamic way for 15 years. This results in natural wines, very balanced and pleasant to drink. Traditionally, these wines are aged for several years in old oak barrels. This aging allows the powerful terroir of the Jura to transmit unique flavors, different from all references, giving very typical, robust and lively wines.

Our story

5 centuries of vine growing in the Jura !

Since 1579, our family has been cultivating the lands of the Jura to produce traditional wines. This passion has been passed down from generation to generation and still drives us!

After their grandfather Jean and their father Christian, it is Jean-François and Jean-Philippe who take the reins of the Domaine in 1990. First, they increased the surface of the vineyard from 4 to 10 hectares, then they decided to reconvert the entire estate to biodynamic viticulture and finally they developed the export of wines throughout the world.

In 2018, it is Laura who returns after several experiences in France and abroad. She first decided to go back to school, studying oenology at the Institut de la Vigne et du Vin Jules Guyot in Dijon, while learning in parallel alongside her uncle and father. Watching and doing until you get it right... in the vineyard and in the winery and she admits she loves it!

Today we are a team of 5 passionate people but always in search of "doing better". Like all generations before her, Laura brings her "signature" and so since the 2018 harvest, she has created a range of natural wines... adding a little note of femininity.
