The domain, created in 1987, is located at the place called "les Chesnaies" in Cravant les Coteaux. Eager to respect the identities of the different terroirs, the estate has been managed organically for over 20 years and biodynamically since 2005 (certified Biodyvin). By using these natural methods in their vineyards and in the cellar, Béatrice and Pascal offer us unique vintages highlighting the specificities of their terroirs.
The Domaine Lambert, created in 1987, is located at the place called "Les Chesnaies" in Cravant-les-Coteaux. Cabernet Franc (for red and rosé wines) and Chenin (for white wines) are the two grape varieties worked on the estate. Pascal, the winemaker, cultivates about 17 hectares in Cravant-Les-Coteaux and Chinon. On the estate, organic farming has been practiced for nearly 20 years. Since 2005, the vines are worked in biodynamic culture, without the use of chemicals to find the primary aromas of the wine, naturally.
Vinifying in amphora allows us to use the conserving virtues of the earth to preserve the purity of the fruit in the wine while respecting our terroir. We combine two natural soils: the clay of Tuscany and the clay or limestone soils of our plots in Chinon. The amphora, a natural thermal regulator, gives birth to a new balance between the wine and nature. This practice has given birth to the Ligéris Dolium - orange wine in 2014 and 2015 - and Harmonie, resulting from maceration in amphora of Cabernet Franc.
Biodynamics is the search for the best balance for the plant in its global environment. This environment includes, of course, the man who leads the plant and accompanies it throughout its life. No vineyard without men, no wine without grape pickers, no great estate without a good team.
