Anecdotes about the domain

Running our vineyard using biodynamic methods made sense when we started to take care of ourselves and eat natural products and observed the beneficial effects that this could have. In this way, we protect nature, the people who work in the vineyard and the consumers of our products. This is also why all the wines produced on the Montirius estate are gluten-free: to allow anyone to enjoy our wines!

The domain's short story

The estate has always kept inputs to a minimum. The entire family and their ancestors have been in contact with the vineyards for generations and generations, and in 1947 they were among the founders of the Vacqueyras cooperative wineries, until today they have their own private winery. 1980, no more chemical fertilizers are used, in 1996 the estate goes completely biodynamic, the wine making and the wine are certified organic. Underneath these main lines, summarized, are an ambition and perennial values inked in each member of the family. The passion and the work of each one, the meticulousness of each moment shape the soil and the vine. All this brings the wine to the mouth!

The winemaker's pride

How to summarize the Domaine Montirius? Or rather, where to start ? No less than 58 hectares on 38 plots of land in 6 grape varieties on 5 terroirs that make up the palette of our artist winemakers, all in biodynamics! They are located in the Vacqueyras, Gigondas and Côtes du Rhône appellations. The old vines have been tended for an average of more than 60 years, and for almost 20 years in biodynamic farming. The wines produced by the Saurel family are sincere, of great purity.
