Domaine Ogereau is located in the heart of the Coteaux du Layon in Anjou. A family estate for 5 generations, we are artisan winegrowers. Anjou is a mosaic of terroirs: schists, sandstones, volcanic rocks... and landscapes. And Chenin Blanc, our native grape variety, is a great interpreter of this diversity of personalities. Our history is of course that of great white wines sweet and sweet white wines made from sorted grapes in overripeness but Chenin also allows us to produce dry white wines of great expression in the Anjou and Savennières appellations. We also have a very beautiful vineyard of Cabernet sur schistes where we produce very beautiful red wines in the Anjou and Anjou Villages appellations as well as a Cabernet d'Anjou rosé demi-sec, an Angevin specialty.
Emmanuel, belonging to the fifth generation, joined his parents Vincent and Catherine on the estate from the 2014 harvest. Together we share a passion for vines and fine wines. We work as a family to pass on our know-how in the search for winegrowing that is attentive to nature and the terroirs and winemaking that is attentive to the wines. Thus, we replant vines on the most beautiful terroirs of Anjou that we have carefully selected for their great personality.
To be a winegrower means being sensitive to the personality of each terroir, being attentive to the vine. It means interpreting our Angevin terroirs, sharing with the community wines of authors, reflecting their terroir and origin.
Vincent and Catherine are united in two common passions: wine and music.
Passions that demand the demands of work, but above all that bring immense pleasure.
Chenin, formerly called Plant d'Anjou, is our native grape variety. Present for several centuries on our schist soils, it is a descendant of the Savagnin of the Jura! The very beautiful acidity of Chenin, its beautiful bitterness allow us to reveal dry or sweet wines of great character. Above all, Chenin is a very great interpreter of terroirs and vintages.
