The domain's short story
Anaïs comes from the Médoc where she manages the family winery, Bastien has acquired her know-how on the right bank in St Emilion where he worked for 10 years. In 2017, they arrived in the pretty village of Rions, on the vineyard of La Bastane, this castle that the elders nicknamed "le petit Yquem" because they made delicious sweet wines. As soon as they arrive, they begin the organic conversion and restructuring of the vineyard because their objective is twofold: to enhance the value of this extraordinary terroir through short circuits. They produce all types of wine, but each time in micro-vats ranging from 200 to 5000 bottles: pink, white, rosé, rosé, red and sweet crémant...
The winemaker's pride
La Bastane is a property managed organically by Anaïs and Bastien. The vineyard is located on the right bank of the Garonne, 30km south of Bordeaux. Perched on a hill, the château is surrounded by its vineyard composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Muscadelle. We find almost all the terroirs of the Bordeaux region: the gravel on the plateau, the limestone on the hillside and the clays at the bottom.
