Created in 2008, Domaine Pithon-Paillé, with a surface area of 9 hectares, mainly planted in Chenin on the great terroirs of Anjou, Savennières, Coteaux du Layon and Quarts de Chaume, preserve these parcels using techniques that respect soil life and its functioning as a complex agro-ecosystem.The lands of our little eastern corner of the Armorican Massif are very varied because of the bedrock (shales, spilites, carboniferous powders) and the Chenin is an excellent "translator" of this geological wealth. Our wine work is based on the intrinsic quality of the fruit and the enhancement of our terroirs...
Jo and Isabelle, winegrowers for several decades, are soon coming to the end of their journey, after having created and had a great estate recognized with all their love and passion. Their son Jules and his wife Tania will take over the reins with the same passion in a very organic and human spirit. We wish to work with the greatest respect for the land and the people around us. We are not bosses, we are a team.
Wine is about sharing, with good friends and good food. Forget luxury and etiquette, let's talk about terroir, peasants and pleasure. First of all, is it okay? This is the first question asked in all our blind tastings. Wine is also about travelling, meeting people and exchanging ideas with fellow winegrowers!
Our delirium is the terroir. We try to express it with Chenin, which is a chameleon variety. Depending on the soil, the exposure, it will be completely different. This is how we can offer a range of 6 very different Chenins. Oh and, to do that, organic farming is necessary, the terroir requires respect for the life of the soil, it will be said!
