Fitou is the oldest red AOC in Languedoc, established in 1948. Comprising two distinct zones — Fitou Maritime and Fitou Montagneux — it produces powerful reds based on Carignan, Grenache, and Mourvèdre.
Fitou wines are characterized by their deep garnet hue, aromas of candied black fruits, spices, and garrigue. Tannic and concentrated in their youth, they soften with age. Pair with red meats and game.
