Ventenac House
Located in the Cabardès appellation area, about ten kilometers west of Carcassonne, Maison Ventenac is a family estate nestled against the foothills of the Montagne Noire. The vineyard covers approximately 135 hectares and is currently undergoing organic conversion, with particular attention paid to soil management and the environment.
Taken over by Olivier and Stéphanie Ventenac, the estate strives to bring out a clear and direct expression of the Cabardès grapes, a region situated at the crossroads of Atlantic and Mediterranean influences. Winemaking aims to minimize artifice, favoring precise aging techniques tailored to the profiles of each cuvée. Depending on the wine, the vessels vary between tanks, large-capacity casks, and amphorae, in order to adjust the textures without masking the fruit's expression.
Certain micro-cuvées, grouped under the Les Dissidents range, are produced in limited volumes and vinified with considerable freedom in classification, when this allows them to preserve their identity. These wines are characterized by clean and direct profiles, built on precision rather than showiness.
The entire work of Maison Ventenac aims to offer wines with a strong identity and consistency, faithful to their origin, with a controlled technical approach and a constant search for clarity between grape variety, terroir and winemaking.
