Born from time-honored expertise, this wine is the fruit of unbroken family traditions dating back to 1856. The vines, located in the heart of Beaujolais, benefit from ideal exposure on the Brouilly hillside. The Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc grapes, originating from these ancient alluvial soils, are harvested by hand. The winemaking process is distinguished by whole-cluster carbonic maceration followed by spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Eight months of aging in large oak casks enhances its aromatic complexity.

Our opinion on the vintage

The translucent garnet robe already reveals a promising harmony. On the nose, cherry mingles delicately with notes of sweet spices, also evoking a mineral sensation, then evolving towards incense and faded rose. On the palate, this wine opens with remarkable breadth, enveloping the palate with a fine and sensual texture. Aromas of candied red fruits intertwine with floral and spicy nuances. The rich and complex finish evokes a Rhône Syrah with touches of raspberry, violet, pepper, and a subtle smoky note. Each sip is an invitation to savor the heritage and passion of an exceptional terroir.

Domaine Bonnet Cotton

Beaujolais | France

Domaine Bonnet Cotton is located on the southern slope of the Brouilly hill in Beaujolais. The family estate has existed since 1856 and is now run by Pierre Cotton and Marine Bonnet, who perpetuate traditions while integrating agroecological and sustainable practices.

The vineyard covers 13 hectares spread across the Beaujolais, Brouilly, Côte de Brouilly, Régnié, and Fleurie appellations. All the vines are cultivated organically, and some are certified biodynamic. The average age of the vines is 65 years, and they are trained in the goblet style. Harvesting is done by hand, with the grapes collected in small crates to preserve their quality.

The wines are made using natural methods, with semi-carbonic maceration, indigenous yeasts, and little to no added sulfur. They are aged in barrels for 6 to 12 months, without fining or filtration. The wines reflect the richness of the terroir, producing fruity, structured, and elegant reds
