The vines, over 50 years old and judiciously trained in the goblet style on well-exposed granite slopes, produce a refined nectar. Thanks to hand-harvesting and gentle pressing, the wine reveals the full potential of its terroir. Carbonic maceration followed by fermentation in tanks, and aging on fine lees, guarantee a silky texture, culminating in bottling directly at the estate.

Our opinion on the vintage

The initial nose reveals subtle aromas reminiscent of red fruits and spices, characteristic of a well-controlled carbonic maceration. On the palate, this wine is distinguished by its silky texture, a result of aging on fine lees, offering an enveloping and delicate sensation. A beautiful structure is evident, with smooth tannins that underscore the wine's balance. The finish prolongs this tasting experience, allowing the mineral nuances of the granite soil to express themselves, lending it great elegance.

Beaujolais | France

Located on the slopes of Beaujolais, Domaine de Thulon is situated in the former farm buildings of Château de Thulon, whose origins date back to the 15th century. The estate now cultivates approximately 16.5 hectares of vines, spread across the steep slopes characteristic of the area.

After working as sharecroppers for about twenty years, Annie and René acquired the estate in 1987, which at the time comprised 8 hectares of vines and the farm buildings. They gradually developed on-site bottling, laying the foundations of the current estate and passing on winemaking expertise to subsequent generations.

The vineyard is planted on slopes where mechanization remains limited, which means that work is predominantly manual throughout the year, from vine maintenance to harvesting. This geographical constraint encourages a careful and consistent approach to the vineyard, adapted to the specific characteristics of the Beaujolais terroir.
