This hectare of vineyards, located in the Rhône Valley, enjoys an ideal east-facing exposure, which promotes perfect ripening of the grapes. The plots, which cannot be worked by machine, are planted on varied soils: clay-loam and granitic. Winemaking begins with skin contact for 10 to 12 hours, followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled barrels. Nine months of aging in oak barrels, with regular stirring, enriches this wine with aromatic complexity and a beautiful texture.

Our Review of the Cuvée

Upon opening, this wine reveals a captivating bouquet of ripe fruit and spices, accentuated by a subtle woody note from its aging in oak barrels. Its texture on the palate is both silky and complex, combining freshness and depth. The different soil types on which the vines grow are expressed through a beautiful minerality and a refined structure. On the palate, each sip leaves a lingering impression, with aromas of red fruits and a delicate hint of vanilla that will delight even the most discerning palates. Perfect for pairing with a refined meal or for savoring on its own to appreciate the full richness of its flavors.

Domaine Barou

Domaine Barou

Rhône Valley | France

In the hills of Ardèche, Domaine Barou has been cultivating its vines organically for many years. Located in the immediate vicinity of the Saint-Joseph appellation, the estate primarily works with Syrah in a more elongated and supple style than typically found on neighboring slopes.

Ripeness levels are deliberately contained to preserve fruit freshness and structural balance. The reds are built on polished tannins and a clear expression of fruit, without seeking excessive power. The estate also produces precise and balanced white wines, adhering to the same philosophy of clarity.

All the cuvées are distinguished by great coherence and a serene style, faithful to a measured interpretation of the Northern Rhône. These are straightforward and accessible wines, crafted without excess and designed for a fluid tasting experience.
