The 30-year-old vines used for this cuvée are cultivated in clay-siliceous soil, which imparts great finesse and a beautiful aromatic expression to the wine. The planting density of 6,500 vines per hectare and yields limited to 35 hl/ha guarantee remarkable quality. After careful settling, the juice is aged for one year in oak barrels, resulting in a subtle and complex woody character.

Our opinion on the vintage

Upon opening, this Chenin Blanc from the "Touche Mitaine" cuvée immediately captivates with its elegance. The nose reveals enticing aromas of quince and candied lemon, enriched by floral notes and an interesting minerality reminiscent of flint. On the palate, this dry and supple wine offers a texture that is both silky and vibrant, perfect for enhancing dishes such as scallops or white meats. A tasting experience that delights with its precision and refined balance.

Xavier Weisskopf works with Chenin Blanc in Montlouis with the patience of a goldsmith. Long pressings, measured aging, perfect ripeness. The wines oscillate between volume and precision, sometimes with an unexpected saline note. The dry wines are straightforward. The off-dry wines settle with disarming tranquility. An estate that listens more than it directs.
