Bergerac | Red | 2022

Julien Auroux transformed the family's 11-hectare estate into an organic vineyard, drawing on his experience in Australia, New Zealand, and with renowned Bordeaux winemakers. This wine, made from Merlot, Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon, is vinified in concrete tanks with no additives except for a touch of sulfites before bottling. The organic approach and the blending of grape varieties give this cuvée a unique dynamism and authentic purity.

Our opinion on the vintage

Visually, its deep garnet hue is captivating, sparking curiosity. From the first sniff, it seduces with a mentholated freshness enhanced by hints of blackcurrant and bramble. On the palate, it strikes a balance between tension and freshness, where the fruit expresses itself generously with a luscious texture. The finish is a delicate concentration of flavors, highlighting blackcurrant, pepper, and menthol, while maintaining remarkable persistence. A fascinating wine that elegantly marries finesse and vivacity.

Domaine Julien Auroux

Beaujolais | France

We're in the Auvergne region, and that makes all the difference: volcanic soils, natural acidity, vibrant yet not thin juices. Auroux works with Gamay and other local varieties with a gentleness reminiscent of natural winemaking, without resorting to easy solutions. The wines are often crisp, sometimes deeper depending on the plot. In short: quiet energy. A true pleasure to pair with food.
