The "Les Roucoules" plot of the Hermitage from the Laurent Habrard estate is a remarkable example of artisanal winemaking. Situated on limestone soil dotted with pebbles in the upper Rhône region, it is home to century-old vines, some dating back to the post-phylloxera era. Manual and horse-drawn labor is prioritized on this land, reflecting its authenticity. Aging in barrels for 10 months gives the wine a complexity that evolves over time, revealing different facets depending on your taste preferences.

Our Review of the Cuvée

A powerful nose blending warm, woody notes of vanilla with buttery and brioche-like hints. Lighter notes of spice, fresh wood, and quince then round out the mid-nose.
On the palate, the round attack quickly gives way to a balanced and powerful structure, supported by tension and minerality on the finish, ensuring freshness and longevity.

The Laurent Habrard Estate is, above all, a story of family and tradition, deeply rooted in the vineyards of the northern Côtes-du-Rhône. The founding story goes that Marie-Thérèse, still very young, came to help with the harvest in 1965 at the home of Louis and Madeleine Habrard, where she met Marcel, one of the family’s sons. From this meeting came a family, four children, and the takeover of the estate. Even today, Laurent’s parents actively support the estate’s operations. The vineyard spans 15 hectares spread across Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, and Hermitage—exceptional terroirs that shape the wines’ identity. The estate is run on a human scale, with a particular focus on environmental stewardship. Certified organic and HVE, the wines are crafted with care, and the reds are vinified without sulfites to preserve their full natural expression.
