Benoit Merchier – The K Family

Beaujolais

The K Family is the story of our family, former stressed out Parisian white collar workers living at 1000 miles an hour, who decided to leave this crazy urban life to cultivate the Beaujolais terroir with passion.A comeback to our roots that ended up in the heart of the land of the Golden Stones that we fell in love with. So it was with great envy that we took over the management of a 12-hectare estate in 2018 to achieve our vision: to help restore the image of Beaujolais wines without pretension, and to prove that good, well-made wine can be accessible to all. We like wines without any pesticides (we are in organic conversion) so no chemical pesticides but only technical means and also a little bit of sulphites, just enough to protect all the flavour of our wines.

Xavier de Boissieu – Château de Lavernette

Xavier is the 13th generation to produce wine in Lavernette. In 2005, Xavier and his wife Kerrie, an American oenologist whom he fell in love with during a trip to California, work on the family estate, combining their qualities, experience and knowledge to produce great wines. The vineyard has been cultivated organically and biodynamically since 2005 in order to respect the environment and to create wines that are impregnated with their terroirs.

Guilhem Barré – Domaine Guilhem Barré

Languedoc

After studying psychology, Guilhem Barré decided to change his path and follow his passion. With his viticulture diploma in the pocket, he buys vineyards located at the gates of Carcassonne in the commune of Ventenac-Cabardès. Today, he passionately cultivates 6.5 hectares. Wines without any artifice At Guilhem Barré, the vines are grown organically, without chemical fertilisers or weed killers, preferring to add organic matter and ploughing to keep the soil alive. This respect for the terroir allows good conservation of the yeasts naturally found on the grape skin.  As a result, the wines are without artifice, marked by their terroir of origin.

Vincent Bottreau – Domaine d’Ardhuy

 Burgundy

It’s out of 45 appellations, including some of the most
beautiful of Burgundy (Vosne-Romanée,
Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, Volnay, etc) that
Vincent (oenologist at the Domaine) and the 7 daughters of
Gabriel d’Ardhuy (founder of the Domaine) work
hand in hand to make you discover with each cuvée
the many climates of their region.

Laurent Habrad – Domaine Laurent Habrad

Rhône

Laurent cultivates 15 hectares of vines in the heart of the prestigious crus of the Northern Côtes-du-Rhône. A vineyard spread over three appellations: Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph and Hermitage. These unique terroirs, of exceptional quality, will be the fundamental bases for the elaboration of the great wines produced by the estate. As a result, Laurent Habrard wines are labelled « organic » and certified High Environmental Value. Indeed, he has set up a sulphite-free vinification method for red wines. The production therefore preserves all its natural flavour.

Roelof Ligtmans- Domaine de la Monette

Burgundy

Old family estate in Mercurey, taken over in 2009 by a Dutch couple. Located in the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise, the estate offers a selection of Burgundies and Mercureys in two colours. The estate’s wines are highly rated in the main guides (Hachette, Bettane & Desseauve, Revue de Vin de France). Since the 2013 vintage they offer certified organic wines. Small yields, manual harvesting, strict sorting, long vinification, everything is done to make wines with body and taste.

Vincent Teulon- Château Vessière

Rhône

At the gates of the Camargue, between Provence and Languedoc, Château Vessière covers 65 hectares of organically grown vines. Passed down from generation to generation for more than 100 years, Vincent and Lucie Teulon have now taken over the business development of the estate and have also very quickly applied their values to the production of Château Vessière wines: the preservation of their environment through a clean and sustainable agriculture, offering healthy products through the production of organic wines (soon biodynamic) and with very little added sulphites (or even none at all for the Ortus cuvée).
