Château du Garde, a family history since 1925. Located in the area of the Great Wines of Bordeaux, and of the Côtes-de-Bordeaux appellation, the Château du Garde benefits from a terroir favourable to the elaboration of Great Wines of Bordeaux. After four generations, the Château du Garde has a unique know-how. Independent winegrower of the commune of Cénac, involved in the environmental cause, the Château du Garde is part of a sustainable development approach and holds its High Environmental Value level 3 (HVE 3) certification.
Spread over 30 hectares of vineyards, Château du Garde benefits from clay-loam soils but also clay-limestone soils on the plateau, with grape varieties essentially shared between Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc for the production of our AOC Côtes-de-Bordeaux Rouge and AOC Bordeaux Clairet, and Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon for our AOC Bordeaux Blanc Sec.
Tasted by two of the world's greatest sommeliers, Paolo Basso and Paz Levinson, our Great Wines of Bordeaux have been published several times in magazines such as Sommeliers International, Terre de Vins, or Vignobles & Gastronomie.

Our story

It is thanks to the family's mutual support that this estate has been able to expand to offer you new grape varieties and blends. In 2009, after Jean-Benoît Subra took over the family estate, he started to elaborate prestigious vintages, hand-harvested and vinified/aged in oak barrels. Constituting the top of the range of the property, these vintages are worthy of the Great Wines of Bordeaux. 6 vintages constitute this collection.

Other little stories

Our 2009 Odette vintage, the first Grand Vin de Bordeaux from the property's Prestige Range, beat the Grand Cru Classé of the same vintage, Château Figeac, in a blind tasting at La Plateforme Lyon in 2018, and thus garnered prestigious comments and appearances among the most important wine magazines.
