Located in the heart of Languedoc in the Saint-Chinian appellation, Château Fonsalade is a historical estate that has always been involved in the production of quality white, red and rosé wines. A unique terroir, an exceptional climate and ancestral know-how are the keys to our wines that will delight both the demanding professional and the discerning connoisseur. The name of the Castle comes from the Occitan "Font Salat", meaning Salt Fountain. It comes from the naturally salty spring that gushes out on the property. This particular water has antiseptic qualities and virtues that are essential for sustainable agriculture that respects the environment. The entire Château Fonsalade team would be delighted to welcome you for a visit and a wine tasting at the cellar. So don't hesitate to stop by.
I took over the estate in 2014 with the desire to produce wines that reflect the terroir and the Saint-Chinian appellation. In a style that may be more modern than my predecessors, I wanted to keep all the specificities that make Chateau Fonsalade, the wine that has delighted me so much for years and years.
I have always been convinced that Languedoc wines could compete with the great wines of the Rhône, Bordeaux or Burgundy by preserving their own identity. To do this, I try every day to make the most of my old Grenache, Syrah, Carignan and Mourvedre vines in order to obtain a nectar that will delight all wine lovers!
I love wine! The entire Château Fonsalade team would be delighted to welcome you for a visit and a wine tasting at the cellar. So don't hesitate to stop by. The spring water that leads to our estate is a real plus for our estate and explains the unique quality of our wines.
