Mas Baux is located on a superb terroir of rolled pebbles: a quaternary terrace between Perpignan and Canet-en-Roussillon, a stone's throw from the Mediterranean on a site that is several thousand years old, on the edge of the ancient Via Domitia, the Roman road that linked Italy to the Iberian Peninsula by crossing Gaul. The grape varieties used allow us to offer organic wines, produced with low yields.
In 1997, Serge and Marie-Pierre Baux took over this estate, created at the end of the 18th century and forgotten for years. It was love at first sight with this unique place. This authentic Catalan farmhouse, surrounded by its vines overgrown with garrigue, already had a "soul" and exuded a feeling of plenitude and exception. Serge, enthusiastic and passionate, restructured the vineyard and winery, creating an underground cellar where he kept the bottled wine. Year after year, Mas Baux develops, producing wines in harmony with the terroir, thanks to cultivation and ageing methods in which respect for nature and quality are the watchwords.
"I love to share my passion with my visitors and it is always a pleasure to rediscover my wines with them. For the past three years, the estate has also been open to artistic activities and offers concerts, shows, guided walks, exhibitions and winegrower picnics in summer. Very popular events and activities!"
