Château Marchand Bellevue extends over 33 hectares, on clay-limestone soil, in Targon. The only red grape varieties are dominated by Merlot for 60%. In addition to classic grape varieties such as Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon (30%), I introduced Petit Verdot (10%) because of its original taste qualities!
Since 2010, I have set myself a qualitative approach: I have directed my efforts to restructure the estate in two directions: a cultural aspect with the replanting of 2 ha of vines each year, and an environmental aspect with a moderate use of phytosanitary inputs and the treatment of wine effluents.
The objective, in addition to being happy to develop a quality product, is to satisfy the ever more demanding taste of the consumer! 90% of my production is marketed as AOC Bordeaux Rouge and 10% as AOC Bordeaux Rosé.
Grandson of a winegrower, my grandfather was one of the founders, in 1936, of the wine cooperative cellar of Romagna, in the Entre-deux-Mers, near Targon... "Fallen into it as a child", I naturally took over the property in 1989 after higher studies in agriculture.
My great pride is to have made the decision, in 2010, to settle alone in the place called Marchand, still in Targon! A place with a beautiful view of a sea of vines, the name Marchand Bellevue was the name of the Château!
