Domaine Blanc Plume was born from the idea of nature's resilience and the need to return to the fundamentals of biodynamic agriculture.
The 8 hectare vineyard is located in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional des Corbières Fenouillèdes, which is home to 47 species of birds protected by a European directive, including the Royal Milan, an eagle with a white feather.Like an author's wine, the name "Blanc Plume" also evokes for us the writer's pen and the white of the page. Each new vintage is for us a new page to be written and told to you through our vintages
After several years of apprenticeship in organic and dynamic organic viticulture in different estates in Provence (Aix en Provence and Baux de Provence in particular), I settled in the Pyrenees Orientales, in the foothills of the Agly Valley at an altitude of 350 m on the terroir of Caudiès-de-Fenouillèdes.The vineyard is spread over 5 small plots, allowing us to play with different micro-climates and soils (from very chalky for our Chardonnay to very schistose for the Syrah and the old Carignan). The old vines are pruned in Gobelet, the Syrah on schist slopes in cordon and the rest of the vineyard in Guyot. Thanks to the talent of the young artist from Marseille " Sandrot ", who adhered to our philosophy, we wished to pay homage to 3 birds by associating them to our first vintages. Beyond the drawings, which we find sublime, it seemed obvious to us that a strong link had been established between the descriptions of the birds and the wines. Our vineyards are also bordered by a long-distance footpath, the GR36, which continues along a river called Sant Jaume (Saint James in Catalan). It is a multi-sensory space conducive to mediation and rejuvenation. We wanted the wines to reflect this image: lively, fruity, fluid and soothing, to be enjoyed with full awareness. The photographer Saint.E, from Perpignan, was able to accompany us to capture the very essence of these landscapes.
