Buy Cahors Wines
All our winemakers in CahorsThe reputation of the wines of the Cahors appellation in the South-West region comes mainly from its red wines with a dark ruby colour with hints of violet, aromas of black cherry, blackcurrant and blackberry and powerful tannins. They make an excellent wine to keep, but can also be enjoyed in their youth.
To produce red wine with a liquorice colour, the winegrower uses the Malbec grape variety as a single variety or sometimes with Tannat or Merlot. This Southwestern wine goes perfectly with local products such as cassoulet, duck breast, duck confit or a dish with truffle. They have a good ageing potential, thanks to the finesse they acquire during their ageing. In recent years, we have seen a new exploitation of this calcareous soil by the winegrowers to make white wines with grape varieties such as viognier and chenin or even chardonnay. This white wine from the Lot Valley is tasty and gourmet. To be tested as soon as possible!
