Côtes de Thongue

The Côtes de Thongue is a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) from central Hérault, covering the hillsides around Pézenas. This terroir of pebbles, clay, and sand produces red, white, and rosé wines with a distinctively southern character.

Innovative winemakers have moved into this area to produce wines outside the constraints of AOC regulations, using grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Côtes de Thongue perfectly exemplify the dynamism of the contemporary Languedoc wine industry.
