Verdier-Logel
Feux de Forez 2023
Côtes du Forez | Rouge | 2023
This wine is carefully crafted through a 10-day semi-carbonic maceration using native yeasts. This process, combined with six months of aging in tanks followed by barrel aging, gives this Gamay a well-balanced structure. The estate’s clay-granite terroir and old vines, ranging from 40 to 50 years old, lend depth and complexity to this wine, which is best enjoyed within 2 to 3 years.

Our Review of the Cuvée
This wine captivates from the very first glance with its deep garnet color and purplish highlights. On the nose, it exudes aromas of blackberry cream, accompanied by a delicate balsamic note. On the palate, it reveals a round, full-bodied texture, enveloped in a lush, velvety mouthfeel. The flavors of ripe fruit are enhanced by toasted spices, revealing the full intensity and finesse of the oak. The finish is both rich and concentrated, expressing a deep, succulent texture where candied fruit blends harmoniously with hints of cocoa and pepper.

Verdier-Logel
Languedoc | France
Perched high in the Forez hills, Verdier-Logel focuses on Gamay grown on basalt. This yields lively, slightly peppery reds that are incredibly easy to drink. Some aged wines offer a longer finish without adding weight. A frank, direct, and very pure style.
