Mondeuse Marie Clothilde 2024

Savoie | Red | 2024

Mondeuse des Châteaux is made from a meticulous selection of grapes from 60-year-old vines. Hand-harvesting guarantees optimal quality, with careful transport in crates. This attention to detail continues with precise vinification, including partial destemming, rigorous sorting, and cold maceration, followed by a measured fermentation. Aging in 600-liter demi-muids for 6 to 8 months completes an elegant and harmoniously balanced structure.

Our opinion on the vintage

At first glance, the deep, intense color of this Mondeuse hints at a distinctive personality. On the nose, delicate aromas of black fruit emerge, enhanced by a subtle hint of spice. On the palate, the wine unfolds with a crisp attack, with refined tannins that create a silky texture. Aging in oak imparts a certain roundness, while the finish reveals mineral nuances reminiscent of the loamy soils of the Châteaux. This wine is an ideal discovery for lovers of character.

In the heart of the Chignin Bergeron vineyard, Adrien Berlioz is today one of the most unique voices in Savoyard wine. Settled in Chignin, in the alpine foothills of Savoie, he took over the family estate in 2006 and gradually transformed it into a respected artisan reference for the quality of his wines and the clarity of his approach.

Adrien's vineyard spans about 7 hectares divided into 17 micro-parcels, often on steep slopes that can reach 50% inclination, making every intervention entirely manual. The clay-limestone soils, rich in scree, moraines, and schists, give the grapes an intense mineral energy and precise ripeness, typical of the region's steep terroirs.
