Our house is named after the former mayor of Vertus - a former French canton located in the Marne department - from 1871 to 1893: Paul Goerg. This exceptional man always supported the winegrowers of his village and represented with pride the Champagnes of the Côte des Blancs. As is the tradition in this area, our wines are made from Chardonnay.

Our story

Paul Goerg was founded in 1984, thanks to the initiative of 8 winegrower families to create a range of Champagne based on the Chardonnay grape variety and the Vertus terroir. Since then, all our vintages have been synonymous with purity and reveal aromas specific to the Côte des Blancs.

Other little stories

What transports me to the world of wine is that it represents a perpetual learning process. The most interesting thing is that the domains are so varied and complex that when we look at the terroirs, the soils, the vinification,... our field of action is infinite and we can always propose improvements. We are respectful of the terroir and against the uniformity of the wine.

Harvesting, we only vinify the grapes from our vineyard. Our exceptional location on the white coast allows us to work mainly from chardonnay. Our personal touch is our long ageing period and our dosage, which give pure champagnes, in elegance and finesse.
