Our story

In 1980, Patrick's parents, Bernard and Yvette GONZALES, who already owned vineyards in Champagne, bought Château Gessan. In 2002, their son Patrick, a cook and hotel-restaurant for more than 30 years and passionate about wine, changed jobs. He took over the reins of the estate with his wife Marie-Christine.

Other little stories

Wine is exciting because it is so complex; it is a source of constant questioning and multiple experiments. Verbal exchanges on wine are always enriching and passionate. The wine that resembles me is a red wine with a deep colour, a nose of ripe fruit and in the mouth structure and velvety.

My meeting with Stéphane Toutoundji, my oenologist, brought me a lot. Our aim is to offer supple and fruity Saint-Emilion wines, drunk young and respecting the terroir. We want to keep our identity and not make "standardized, trendy wines"....
