Château Tour de Fonbeude

Estate located in the commune of Blasimon, Sauveterre de Guyenne et Rauzan, composed of clayey and clay-limestone soil. The vines are made up of 50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc. The age of the vineyard is 25 years, the vinification is made in stainless steel vats, following a thermo-vinification process, and a vatting period of 30 days.

Our story

A family property that we took over in 2011, it was 33 hectares, our parents had created it in the mid-1980s. The year 2001 was the year of the creation of the EARL MERLET FRERES, with a reinforcement of the vineyard so that today it reaches 90 ha, 2013 was a complicated year because the climate has reduced our harvest by half, 2014 construction of the new wine cellar with a tool allowing us to have a total control of the wine making process. In 2015 AND 2016 our wines will be awarded at the Bordeaux competition
