Anecdotes about the domain

"I chose the path of independence to have the joy of developing my own wine business. My wish is to share with you the fruit of our harvest. My roots are here, on the lands of Chablis, this love for this land, this heritage naturally leads me to prolong and perpetuate this for my children. Frédéric has been working in the vineyards since he was a child during his vacations and weekends at La Chapelle and at his uncle's house. It is thus from the youngest age that he was taken of passion for this trade of wine grower. My wish is to share with you these moments of happiness that live the daily cycle of the vine and simply to enjoy with you the fruit of our harvest.

The domain's short story

Coming from a family of winemakers and after working on her father's farm for 13 years, Céline decided in 2013 to become independent and create her own wines with her husband, Frédéric. Originally from La Chapelle Vaupelteigne, a small village in the Chablis region, Frédéric has had a passion for the winemaking profession since he was very young. For her part, it is at the family estate Jean-Marc Brocard, where the winemaker grew up and worked, that Céline tasted the passion of the vine. It is now their turn to follow each step of the viticulture! Their winemaking aims to transmit through their wines the diversity of the terroirs of the Chablisien and Grand Auxerrois. The key to obtaining great wines is in the vineyard, which is why they devote all their energy to obtaining quality grapes, an essential condition for obtaining wines that will delight the taste buds.

The winemaker's pride

Céline and Frédéric Gueguen cultivate more than 35 different parcels in a wide variety of terroirs between Chablis, Chichée, Saint Bris and Irancy. The Chardonnay grape variety is characterized on this terroir by a very pleasant fruity side and a fine and delicate minerality. The soils are clay and limestone (Kimmeridgian) and are perfectly suited to the development of the vine. With a good dose of pragmatism and meticulousness, the Chablisian couple evolves with one objective: to produce racy and precise wines.
