Picard Boyer was founded in 1993 when two friends had a common idea: to enjoy themselves and their champagne on weekends with friends, but for them, Picard & Boyer Champagne is not primarily intended to be developed. Their knowledge, and their love for this exceptional champagne, make Picard Boyer wines of quality. The first signs of encouragement are coming from the ever-increasing orders since the beginning of the adventure and the opinions and knowledge of our customers are helping us year after year. Our heritage is marked by five generations of Champagne people, who, one after the other, have passed on their knowledge and experience of champagne to each other. This is why the history of Champagne Picard & Boyer is marked by this family imprint translated by our "Family Spirit".
Champagne Picard Boyer is nowadays, 5 hectares of vines cultivated, mainly in the Marne Valley (Verneuil, Chatillon-sur-Marne, Vandières). It would seem that the efforts and work we are doing are bearing fruit as we recorded sales up 30% in volume between 2014 and 2015. The essence of Champagne Picard & Boyer is Pinot Meunier, which dominates most blends. Axel himself manages the management of the vineyard and the production of wines in the cellars of Epernay.
Born into a Champagne family for 5 generations, it was almost normal for one of the children of the 6th generation to take over the torch... I learned to love this profession and especially winemaking from an early age, I quickly turned to oenology studies, which made me want to do this profession, goes back to my childhood, when our father taught us with my brothers to feel the different basic assembly wines, and to design our own vintage...... Certainly our first vintage was not a great worldwide success, but this allowed me to love this profession of nose....
The greatest pleasure is not only to blow the cork, but also to remember all the good and bad moments of the year that allowed us to create this bottle... Sad news when Antoine Picard died in 2009. His 4 sons then decided to continue following him; it is naturally that Axel, the 3rd son, took over the reins of the House to finally develop it. The 4 hearts are the symbol of 4 brothers who, together, make their "Family Spirit" last and develop the family business.
