Anecdotes about the domain

My favorite plot is located at the top of the hill, one of the highest points of the Gironde, from where I can see the whole property and my Libourne vineyards (with binoculars of course!). I like to go there on my way back after a few days of trade show. Our terroir is an infinite richness that we find in our wines. But be careful not to damage it, we must be respectful of nature and what it gives us!

The domain's short story

I was born into the business and naturally took over the estate in 1989, after studying wine. Joined by a first brother in 1999, then by a second one in 2005, the three of us manage this magnificent family estate. The meeting that marked me the most was with Gilles Pauquet, oenologist consultant for the greatest of the Libourne region (Cheval Blanc, Gazin, L'Evangile), who has now joined our adventure by becoming oenologist for our vineyards. Without him, we would never have reached this level of quality!

The winemaker's pride

Château Le Prieur was acquired in 1912 by the Garzaro family. There were only 4 ha of vines in the Entre-deux-Mers. After four generations of work, Vignobles Garzaro now cultivates 60 ha in Entre-deux-Mers, 6 ha in Saint-Emilion and 4 ha in Pomerol. Located on magnificent clay-limestone slopes well exposed to the mild Bordeaux climate, the vines of Château Le Prieur allow noble grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon to give their best. In Pomerol and Saint-Emilion, the deep and gravelly sands allow these grape varieties to give wines of character.
