Domaine de Carbonnieu

The Domaine is located in the commune of Bommes in the heart of the Sauternes appellation. 23Hectares divided into 60 plots on the heights and plateaus of Bommes up to the entrance of Preignac. All these parcels bring different soils and exposures that give our wines a multitude of aromas. The Sémillon grape variety, King of Sauternes, also dominates our estate with Sauvignon and Muscadelle. The grapes are harvested manually to select the most advanced bunches.

Our story

At Domaine de Carbonnieu we only know how to work as a family! Since 1782, the property has grown, developed and generations have followed. Marc developed bottle sales in the 1950s; Alain took over in the 1980s, Christophe, his son came to support him at the end of the 1990s and for the past 10 years Alexis, Christophe's brother, has been working on the commercial side. A second wine is produced, the Reflets de Carbonnieu and the flagship wine Domaine de Carbonnieu is awarded several competitions (Bordeaux, Vinalies, Guide Hachette and Féminalise). Labels are being modernized to appeal to the largest numbers.
