There are very few regions that can enjoy the Mediterranean climate AND the mountain air… This is what gives this vineyard an exceptional climate as well as an altitude terroir for the growth of vineyards. It is here that rare grape varieties such as the Mollard, an old red grape from the Domaine Allemand, flourishes. This majestic Mollard gives birth to “vin de pays” wines whose color is an intense and deep ruby, releasing a spicy nose, notes of red fruits, pepper and toasted bread.
It’s a treat for the eyes AND the mouth…!

The wines of the Southern Alps consist mainly of Roussanne, Vermentino and Ugni Blanc for white wines and Syrah, Grenache Noir and Mourvedre for red wines. It is however the rosé that is mainly produced, in line with its Provencal wine regions. Under this protected geographical indication lies the PDOs (Protected Designation of Origin) of Pierrevert and the PGIs (Protected Geographical Indication) of Hautes-Alpes and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence (some 150 hectares of vineyards are cultivated in the PGI area). Today, and since the reinstatement of the vineyard in 1932, we are witnessing a renaissance of this vineyard which had suffered very strongly, until the near disappearance of the phylloxera crisis in the late 19th century. The white and rosé wines of this vineyard have to be drunk fresh but not iced, in order to fully enjoy their freshness without masking the taste of fruit. They pair well with fish and aperitifs.
