Hautes Côtes de Beaune 2024

Hautes Côtes De Beaune | White | 2024

This Chardonnay is the result of meticulous winemaking that beautifully showcases the unique character of its clay-limestone terroir. The grapes are harvested by hand, reflecting a constant focus on quality. After direct pressing of whole bunches, the juice is fermented with indigenous yeasts and then aged for 11 months in oak barrels, resulting in refined complexity and depth. The winemaking process employs a minimal sulfite approach, enhancing the natural expression of the grape variety.

Our opinion on the vintage

The nose of this Chardonnay opens with delicate aromas of white flowers and white-fleshed fruit, subtly enhanced by a touch of vanilla from its aging in older oak barrels. On the palate, it reveals a pleasant minerality, a legacy of its clay-limestone soil, accompanied by a silky texture that evokes roundness. Notes of toasted almond mingle with a persistent freshness, offering an elegant finish. The structure is both generous and precise, confirming the care taken throughout its vinification. This wine captivates with its harmonious balance and assertive personality.

Chapuis & Chapuis

Chapuis & Chapuis

Bourgogne | France

In Pommard, the Chapuis & Chapuis estate, run by two brothers, produces wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes sourced from local vineyards, both from their own vines and from a carefully selected network of négociants. This dual approach allows them to work with different origins while maintaining a constant focus on the quality of the raw materials.

The winemaking process relies on spontaneous fermentations and gentle extractions, with the aim of preserving the finesse of the textures and the clarity of the fruit. The red wines are distinguished by a fine texture, a clear expression of Pinot Noir, and a marked verticality, reminiscent of classic Burgundian interpretations, without striving for power.

The white wines maintain a clear tension, supported by perfectly ripe grapes and judicious aging. The estate's work as a whole prioritizes sincerity and precision, offering balanced wines built on finesse and coherence rather than stylistic
