Charivari 2024
Vin de France | Rouge | 2024
This wine, made from 100% Grenache grown using organic farming methods on the clay-limestone soils of the Minervois (Félines-Minervois), reveals a bold and generous style. Aged in concrete tanks for six months, it preserves the fruit’s freshness without oak aging. The result is an easy-to-enjoy wine, fruity and supple, with a balanced and approachable profile.

Our Review of the Cuvée
The color is a deep, translucent garnet. The nose is delicate, with hints of cherry liqueur, orange peel, and balsamic and spicy notes. The palate is round, very full-bodied, and enveloping, offering great freshness on the attack, before revealing a finely velvety texture with intense fruit underscored by the freshness and tension of citrus peel. The finish continues the dynamic of the palate, with added vibrancy, but also vitality and sensuality—it must, after all, live up to BB—and lingers on candied orange, maraschino, licorice, and dark chocolate.

Domaine Borie de Maurel
Languedoc | France
Syrah dominates here without overpowering the other elements: in Minervois, Michel Escande has patiently crafted a style that is ample yet never massive. The old vines, rooted in the limestone hillsides, yield juices that reveal a tight grain, consistent depth, and an unexpected freshness. Extended aging refines the contours while preserving a natural spicy character. A short sentence. The estate embodies a certain Languedoc classicism, but a vibrant, thoughtful classicism, focused on precision rather than raw power.
