Terrasses Du Larzac | Rouge | 2024

With this Terrasses du Larzac vintage, Jeff Carrel showcases one of the Languedoc’s highest-quality appellations. The vineyards, composed mainly of Grenache and supplemented by Syrah, Carignan, and Mourvèdre, thrive in the foothills of the Massif Central, where limestone scree and cool breezes provide ideal conditions for preserving freshness and balance. The grapes are harvested mechanically, vinified through slow fermentation and careful punch-downs, then aged on fine lees to preserve the fruit’s purity and the expression of the terroir.

Our Review of the Cuvée

The wine displays a beautiful deep red color. The nose immediately captivates with its luscious aromas of ripe red fruits. On the palate, the wine reveals a fresh and savory texture, with a slender body, supple tannins, and a lovely, fruit-driven finish. The wine combines intensity, elegance, and balance in an approachable yet refined style. Serve between 15 and 18°C; it pairs equally well with white meats, flavorful vegetarian dishes such as lentil dal, and a light red-fruit tart. It has an aging potential of at least 8 years.
