Château Haut Peyrat is located on the heights of Cambes, a village on the banks of the Garonne, 20 minutes from the centre of Bordeaux. It has the particular appeal of a splendid 20 hectare terroir, mixed with 20 hectares of woods and meadows, revealing a delicate and rare balance of biodiversity. Almost the entire vineyard is located on hillsides, facing south-east to south-west, and most of the soils and plots, composed of clayey-limestone and clayey-gravelly gravel, have a good potential for quality. Rich in this terroir, the Château produces a range of excellent wines that should enable everyone to find great satisfaction.

Our story

Isabelle, from a family of winegrowers whose traces can be traced back to the French revolution, was the first to manoeuvre in launching the project in 2014, joined by Didier in 2016. United by their common passion for wine and by a life project, Isabelle and Didier acquired this winegrowing estate in 2014. It was a real favorite, because in addition to a very beautiful building on a hillside offering a superb view, the estate extends over 40 hectares in one piece, at the gates of Bordeaux and Entre Deux Mers, a small Tuscany in Bordeaux. Left abandoned for many years, many works have been undertaken in the vineyard and cellar and today there is undeniably a new wind blowing on the property....

Other little stories

For Isabelle and Didier, it's a second professional life, but above all the search for a very special way of life... A life in the countryside which may seem peaceful but which is punctuated by the sound of work in the vineyard and the cellar.

Château Haut Peyrat is part of a sustained environmentally responsible approach. Indeed, since 2017, the property is certified HVE (High Environmental Value), level 3.
We practice a reasoned viticulture: working the soil, mechanical weeding, homeopathic doses of copper and sulphur, stimulation of the vine's natural defences, limitation of the spraying of synthetic products (no CMR products). Finally, natural vinification with indigenous yeasts.

An effluent treatment plant has been installed and the estate is equipped with one of the only vine shoot boilers in the region. This boiler heats the entire property, both the technical buildings and the houses, using vine shoots cut the previous year.
