Château Revelette is located in the heart of Provence, 30 kilometres from the town of Aix-en-Provence, in the town of Jouques. A wine-growing estate with a single vocation: to make real wine. 30 ha of vines, 17 parcels located between 330 and 400 m above sea level, 11 grape varieties. The continental climate with cold and harsh winters and dry and hot summers makes this the northernmost terroir of the Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence appellation.
Peter Fischer arrived in 1985 in Jouques, a town located in the Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence appellation. His goal was then to produce good wines. When she discovered this magnificent little corner of France, she wanted to express the best of her scents of scrubland, undergrowth, oak.... Vinifying grape variety by grape variety, plot by plot, he realized the enormous potential of this small vineyard. Highly technological wines, from the 1980s, rewarded with numerous medals, followed by organic cultivation since the early 1990s with demonstrative and highly extracted wines, we are now tending towards an expression where the purity of the grapes and the accuracy of the actions in the cellar replace the addition of any external product.
Peter Fischer had the idea of making a great wine one day. A deep wine, full of expression and character. Years of trials have taken place: different vintages, different ageing times, new and old barrels, the selection of the most expressive plots, yield reduction, crop change. Rather than using such trendy terms as "organic wine" or "natural wine", the winegrower focuses on the pure, unique and recognizable "terroir wine".
When the harvest comes, an immeasurable joy transports me. I like these moments of life with my teams, local people, enthusiasts, aesthetes. To be at the harvest is a privilege for me and for them, to do a job well done, reasoned and patient.
