Anecdotes about the domain
Peter Fischer had the idea to make a great wine one day. A deep wine, full of expression and character. Years of experimentation took place: different vintages, different lengths of aging, new and old barrels, selection of the most expressive parcels, reduction of yields, change of culture. Rather than using fashionable terms such as "organic wine" or "natural wine", the winemaker focuses on the pure, unique and recognizable "vin de terroir".
The domain's short story
Peter Fischer arrived in 1985 in Jouques, a commune located in the Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence appellation. His goal was to produce good wines. When he discovered this magnificent little corner of France, he wanted to express its scents of garrigue, undergrowth, oak... Vinifying variety by variety, plot by plot, he realized the enormous potential of this small vineyard. From the highly technological wines of the 80's, rewarded by numerous medals, followed by an organic culture from the beginning of the 90's with demonstrative and strongly extracted wines, we tend today towards an expression where the purity of the grape and the accuracy of the gestures in cellar replace the addition of any external product.
The winemaker's pride
Château Revelette is located in the heart of Provence, 30 kilometers from Aix-en-Provence, in the commune of Jouques. The continental climate with cold, harsh winters and dry, hot summers makes this the northernmost terroir of the Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence appellation. 30 hectares of vines, 17 parcels located between 330 and 400 meters above sea level, 11 grape varieties.
