Our story

Our way of seeing wine has evolved. After a long period of questioning, we decided to follow our own path. Already far away from many habits in the vinification process, such as following schedules to the letter. So we propose you SIPIAN, wines which resemble us with our style, inspired by the current tendencies which make our daily life. We are working today on "The purity of wine".

Other little stories

As in fashion, each year our new collection is started from scratch with new grapes worked in different ways depending on the vintage. Frédéric Méhaye created the Chateau Sipian brand in 1989, and has been marketing it himself for more than 30 years, obliging himself to work only with the wine merchants, CHR and wholesalers, and refusing to enter the GD and the trade.In order to have a very high technical level, we now have 4 oenologists, 2 of whom are foreigners who bring a great open-mindedness to the winemaking process: Pierre-Jean Sanchez, consulting oenologist, a great Bordeaux palate, but very modest and little known; Nicolas Vivas, a consultant for the most beautiful estates in the world, including Bordeaux, who has become a master in the work of wood in wines, to the point of directing the research laboratory of the world's leading cooperage group: Demptos. Although less known, he is a star of oenology as Michel Rolland. Luc Sermier, Chief Oenologist of the Provins winery in Switzerland, which produces the most beautiful wines of the Valais, he brings us the rigor of his country and an irreproachable technique.José Maria Soares Franco Do Rey, recognized as the king of Portuguese wines with 20 years of producing Barca Velha "the Portuguese Petrus" as well as magnificent projects assembled and launched from A to Z such as the Duorum wines, he brings a certain madness to our project.At the creation we find Quentin Méhaye, son of Frederic he arrived in the property in 2014. Not a winegrower for nothing, he has the good taste to link his passions to wines. Passionate about fashion, architecture or art, he has the idea to link the creation of wines to the aesthetic trends surrounding the population. His goal is to stand out from the crowd, which is why he came up with the idea of "WINE DESIGN" or to abandon the traditional Bordeaux bottle.
