Our story

Le Grand Cros is a family estate of 30 hectares, located on the border of the communes of Carnoules and Besse-sur-Issole, in the heart of the Var. Situated at the foot of the Maures mountains, the production is mainly composed of rosé, completed by nice reds and a small production of white. A few olive trees also allow us to offer an olive oil for sale. The estate was bought in 1989 by my parents Jane and Hugh Faulkner. I took over the reins in 2000. As soon as I arrived, I made important changes in the estate such as a weather station to adjust the work of the vines and not to use insecticides, but also an infra-red camera to determine the date of optimal maturation for the harvest. I managed to combine art and science to ensure the quality of the wines.

We were one of the pioneers of sparkling wines in Provence with our elegant and refined La Maîtresse (traditional method) and La Rivale (Charmat method) full of freshness and vivacity.

Other little stories

I am constantly seeking to improve the quality of our wines. The historical ranges are L'Esprit de Provence and Nectar which represent the quintessence of Provence. The Jules range includes light and festive wines that will delight the greatest number of people. The Aurélia vintage was created for the birth of my first daughter. The Grand Cros team is looking forward to the Cuvée Cécilia!

My mother Jane Faulkner is an artist who created the first labels of the Grand Cros.

The 30 hectares of vineyards are intermingled with pine trees, olive trees and restanques. What a pleasure to walk among the vines of the domain.
