Located south of Saint-Emilion, the Bardet Vineyards invite you to come and share a moment with them in an idyllic setting on the banks of the Dordogne.
Throughout this visit you will discover our history, a part of our vineyards and our innovative techniques of red wine making. The tour will end with a tasting of seven wines from the vineyard.
We will share with you our three main values: family, agroecology and innovation. Indeed, our domain is a family exploitation since 1704 which is committed to work exclusively in agroecology in order to respect the biodiversity. In our cellar, we will show you our innovations that allow us to ensure the quality of our products.
Finally, you will taste these seven red wines, each one as different as the other.
Through your senses, you will discover the work of each generation, the technical innovations that have allowed us to produce wines without added sulfites, but also marketing innovations with some brands that will surprise you.
We look forward to meeting you and sharing this moment with you.
The Bardet family
Winegrowers since 1704, Vignobles Bardet have been working as a family for generations. Each one of them brings his stone to the building to perpetuate the tradition of the vineyard. As a tribute to their family history, the gabare has become the emblem of Vignobles Bardet. Indeed, due to their location on the banks of the Dordogne, the family's ancestors were gabariers and transported wine barrels to the port of Bordeaux. A symbol with sails turned towards an audacious future.
INNOVATION :
- Patenting in 2002 of a machine allowing the washing and the selection of the best berries : the Tribaie
- Since 2010, development of equipment improving even more the selection by a system of calibration or individual separation of the berries according to their different maturity.
- Development of an electric straddle harvester with very low power consumption to maintain the soil by mowing the grass instead of ploughing and always keeping a natural, total and permanent vegetation cover.
AGROECOLOGY:
- Self-fertilization of the soil to enhance the expression of the terroir. Since 2001, no fertilizers have been used.
- Management of ecosystems with the objective of working with nature instead of fighting against it using chemicals and technology: this is integrated pest management.
- Agroforestry and permanent grassing which allows "cultivating humus and cultivating water" making the vineyard naturally more resilient to climate change.
