Our story

Created in 1850, Domaine Laporte is located in the heart of the village of Saint Satur, on the banks of the Loire and our cellars stand on a geological fault facing the village of Sancerre. The Domaine has evolved with the times, vintage after vintage, and now our 30 hectare vineyard is managed organically since 2008. The parcel-based vinification historically applied to the estate is a distinctive element, the foundation of the reputation of our Laporte wines.

Other little stories

Our parcel "Les Terranges", located on the top of the hillside in Saint Satur, was one of the first vines planted by the Benedictine monks of the Saint Satur abbey in the 15th century. According to village legend, one day a monk spotted an angel while walking through the vineyard, and since then, angels have been seen from time to time. This is what gave the name "Les Terranges" to the plot.
